Lloyds TSB says a survey of residents of the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands shows finances are the biggest cause of stress as people get married.
The study shows more than half those questioned guessed their ideal wedding would cost between £10,000 and £19,000.
Other results show a quarter of Manx residents will spend £500 on an engagement ring, but half don’t currently own their own property.
The bank says two thirds say saving up enough money for a deposit for a house is the biggest hurdle to eventually owning their own home.
