Escapetherock.im has been described as the first of its kind to offer online bookings for getaways to Europe, the USA and beyond - with the added convenience of a real-life travel agent to speak to, should you require it.
The sister firms' bosses describe the business model as 'phygital', designed to provide the best of both worlds between the web and the high street.
The idea is to bring more footfall to Douglas town centre, as well as providing the financial assurances of a well-established travel firm if things go wrong.
