UKIP forfeits Manx cash

The UK Independence Party has been ordered to forfeit a £4,000 donation made to it by a Manx-based company.

The party was given the cash by Nightech, based in Analyst House in Peel Road, Douglas, on April 23, 2005, a London court heard.

Because the firm was registered here, the donation was impermissible under UK electoral law.

Nightech, formerly known as Mile Oak Ltd, Blondes Have More Fun Ltd and Muon Ltd, was incorporated in September 1994.

UKIP will hand the cash over to the UK government, along with around £15,000 of other impermissible donations.
