Maritime career openings flagged
Opportunities for young people in the Island to train for careers in the maritime sector are set to expand.
Isle of Man-based ship management firm V. Group is to almost double the number of cadetships it offers, with an additional five places in this year's intake.
The training programme is to be part-funded by the Manx government, to encourage more youngsters to consider careers in the shipping industry.
V. Group is one of the largest ship management firms in the world, and the Island's Ship Registry says it's confident some the 11 recruits taken on by the firm in 2017 will become leaders of the future.
