WikiLeaks wait for finance sector

There's a nervous wait for the Isle of Man's finance sector, to see if it's mentioned in the latest set of documents due to be released on the WikiLeaks website.

Offshore bank account details of over 2,000 wealthy individuals and firms are set to be published, after being handed over to site founder Julian Assange.

They were passed on to him in London by former Swiss banker Rudolf Elmer, who said he wanted the world to know the truth about money concealed in offshore accounts and the systems in place to keep it secret.

Assange says it will take weeks to check and publish the data on his site.

Elmer is due to appear before a Zurich court to answer charges of bank secrecy violations, after he passed on clients' data to WikiLeaks in 2007.
