A step into the modern era for social security

Secure messaging platform launched

The Isle of Man Government has launched a new secure messaging platform for Social Security customers, marking what they say is a major step in transforming the Island's online services.

This two-way platform allows people send and receive messages, forms, and documents directly with the Social Security team.

Government says this will not only streamline communication but also reduces paper use, lowering costs and environmental impact.

Political member with responsibility for social security Dr Michelle Haywood says while this new system will work for many people, those who aren't online do not need to worry:

To access the platform, customers must register with the Isle of Man Government's online services and set up a Social Security account at gov.im/onlineservices.

Once registered, users can instantly access the new messaging system after an identity check that requires their National Insurance number.

This initiative follows the launch of online Incapacity Benefit applications last year.

Future plans include expanding digital services to cover Income Support, Employed Person’s Allowance, and Jobseeker’s Allowance.

For more information, you can visit this web page, contact the Social Security team via email at socialsecurity@gov.im, or call 01624 685656.

Support is also available at the public counter in Markwell House, Douglas, from Monday to Friday between 9am and 1pm.
