AG will not take stand in re-trial

There's to be no further evidence in the trial of the Island’s Attorney General at Douglas Courthouse.

After five days of witnesses, the prosecution closed its case on Monday afternoon (10 Feb) and the defence announced it would not present any evidence on behalf of its client.

Fifty-two year-old Stephen Harding of Glen Vine denies a charge of perjury and of committing acts against public justice.

They relate to former Island company Street Heritage which was wound up in 2010 with an unpaid tax bill of £182,000.
