Age range of climate change respondents surprises Chief Minister

All ages submit feedback, says Howard Quayle

The Chief Minister admits he's surprised by the age range of those responding to the Isle of Man Government's climate change consultation.

Howard Quayle declared a climate emergency while announcing plans for a bill to tackle the issue.

Within the next legislative year, the Government will introduce a bill committing the Island to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, as well as banning fossil fuel boilers in new build homes by 2025, and fossil fuel cars by 2040.

Feedback from the consultation will inform the proposals, and Mr Quayle says he wasn't expecting such a diverse cross-section of the population:

You can hear more on the climate change issue on tomorrow's Perspective programme from midday.
