Alleged incest case prompts reform call

Claims of brother/daughter relationship

A father is calling for a change in the law, after his brother allegedly began a sexual relationship with his daughter.

He says the unidentified pair are still together, despite a DNA test confirming their family ties.

Unlike in England, what defines incest under Manx law does not extend beyond direct lineage - effectively meaning relationships between a biological uncle and niece are legally allowed.

Affairs between parents and children are punishable by up to ten years in prison.

The father, who does not want to be named, says it's crippled his family.
