Figure prompts queries in the House of Keys
Almost 800 people have had their visa curtailed on the Isle of Man in the past three years.
That's when someone's visa is cut short meaning the reason for granting it in the first place no longer exists or the holder has breached the conditions of their stay.
The figure - totalling 786 - was given by Treasury Minister Chris Thomas at this week's sitting of the House of Keys.
It raised the question of what happens when someone who came to the Island for a specific job finds themselves out of work and how that affects Manx workers looking for new roles:
