Sale of art deco settee to benefit Manx charity
An art deco lounge suite, found at an amenity site on the Island, has sold at auction today for £2,200 (not including fees).
The 1930s settee went under the hammer to raise funds for the Jurby and Northern Community Initiatives charity.
It was listed with a guide price of £1,500-£2000 - the charity said it would be 'amazing' if it surpassed that figure.
Andreas resident Nell Mylrea found the Art Deco Cloud Lounge Three-piece suite with satin birch veneered backs by Harry & Lou Epstien at the Northern Civic Amenity Site and didn't realise it was valuable until researching it online.
