Anderson surprised by parts of Noble's review

The former health minister says he was surprised by some of the findings of an external review of Noble's hospital.

David Anderson led the department while the review of three key areas -  Accident and Emergency, Theatres and Anaesthetics and Critical Care - was carried out.

Its findings which were recently published included concerns about all three.

More than half of the areas of Critical Care which were assessed, for example, were said to be underperforming.

Inspectors also expressed concerns about a 'culture of blame' within the hospital.
