Andreas man had two parcels of drugs sent in post

Post Office staff called police after discovering package

A court's heard an Andreas man had two parcels of drugs sent to his address in two months.

Twenty-five-year old Ryan Stuart Corlett of Croft Park appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.

He admitted two counts of being unlawfully concerned in producing cannabis, one of possessing the class B drug and one of being concerned supplying it.

Prosecution advocate Roger Kane told the hearing Post Office staff called police on 17 June when a suspicious parcel in a sorting office was found to contain cannabis.

Police arrested Corlett, who admitted the drugs were for his own use and said he'd bought the 53 grammes for £100 from a dealer.

On 16 July he contacted officers to tell them about another parcel containing 57 grammes of cannabis worth £1,142, which he said he hadn't ordered.

Corlett denied dealing drugs, although he admitted he'd once sold some to a friend.

Mrs Hughes bailed him and asked for pre-sentencing reports to be prepared before he appeared in court again on 24 November.
