Airline responded to notification from Ronaldsway Airport
Ronaldsway Airport has apologised for any inconvenience caused after air traffic control staffing issues led to easyJet cancelling flights to and from the Island yesterday (10 October).
The early morning Liverpool flight was scrapped after a message to operators and airlines warned normal opening times on the Isle of Man may be changed.
The airport says the situation was due to staff sickness and 'the notification was given whilst efforts were being made to find cover.
A statement provided to Manx Radio said: "When cover was confirmed an update was provided to airlines and published on our Facebook page.
"Flight cancellation decisions are made by airlines and take into account a number of different operational factors and, on this occasion, easyJet made the decision to cancel the early Liverpool flight.
"We recommend that passengers always check the status of their flights with the operators."
