Armed Forces Covenant to be re-signed

Chief minister and members of armed forces to attend event

The Armed Forces Community Covenant is to be re-signed.

It comes days after the country has been commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day landings.

The original covenant was set up some years ago to encourage more support for the armed forces among the community.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle will carry out the re-signing at 2.30pm on Friday, in the presence of representatives from the armed forces.

Major Charles Wilson says the original concept has now grown, so it was felt such a ceremony would be appropriate:
