Arrests avoidable if you respect bar workers, say police

Go out and enjoy yourself but be safe, urges Constabulary

Being violent after drinking too much over the festive period will always lead to an arrest.

That's the warning from the Island's police ahead of the Christmas party season.

Officers are urging those heading to licensed premises in the coming weeks to respect those working in pubs, bars and clubs.

Sergeant Alan Shimmin says many of the arrests made over the Supermanx Bank Holiday weekend this summer were avoidable:
