Arrests made over Merseyside drug link

More than £1 million-worth of drugs seized since last year

Six men have been arrested, as part of an ongoing investigation into drug importation into the Isle of Man.

The police say an organised crime group based in Merseyside has been importing large amounts of both class A and class B substances to the Island.

Officers have seized drugs worth more than £1 million as part of this specific operation alone since January last year, in addition to significant cash and vehicle seizures.

The Isle of Man Constabulary says it has been working with Merseyside police and the Regional Organised Crime Unit to secure the arrests of four men from Merseyside, who are aged 39, 34, 33 and 32.

The two other men arrested are Island residents, aged 31 and 28.

Two of six were arrested in the UK yesterday, and one today, with the other three being arrested on the Isle of Man today.
