MHKs vote to progress legislation following full day of debate
Politicians have voted for progressing assisted dying legislation through the Island's parliament.
The Assisted Dying Bill was put before today's sitting of the House of Keys for its second reading.
MHKs voted 17 for and 7 against.
The votes were as follows:
FOR - Ann Corlett, David Ashford, Clare Barber, Daphne Caine, Rob Callister, Tim Crookall, Dr Alex Allinson, Dr Michelle Haywood, Lawrie Hooper, Tim Johnston, Sarah Maltby, Joney Faragher, Stu Peters, Jane Poole-Wilson, Juan Watterson, Chis Thomas and John Wannenburgh.
AGAINST - Alfred Cannan, Claire Christian, Tim Glover, Jason Moorhouse, Julie Edge, Kate Lord-Brennan and Andrew Smith.

Ramsey MHK Alex Allinson's bill will now progress to the clauses stage, where he's said he hopes it will become 'our bill' - with all members contributing and shaping the legislation.
