Ban for Peel man caught drug driving

21-year-old was nearly twice legal limit

A Peel man has been banned from the road for two years after admitting drug driving.

Ethan Michael Audsley, of Fuchsia Lane, was stopped in Castletown on 22 August last year after he was seen driving with no headlights on.

The 21-year-old failed a drug wipe test and was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters; blood tests showed he was nearly twice the legal limit for cannabis.

During sentencing at Douglas Courthouse Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood noted Audsley’s remorse telling him: "You are clearly very well thought of and this was very out of character."

Fining Audsley £1000, and ordering him to pay prosecution costs of £125, she also told him he’d have to take, and pass, an extended driving test.
