Event is taking place today and tomorrow in Douglas (17-18 September)
Moving this year's Isle of Man Food & Drink Festival to a later date this year wasn't a viable option.
That's according to the Environment, Food & Agriculture Minister, Clare Barber, as the event takes place today and tomorrow in Douglas.
Questions were raised this week about whether it's appropriate for the festival to go ahead as the Island and UK mourn the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Mrs Barber says supporting local produce right now is important given the challenges the industry is facing globally:
VAT reduction on electricity extended
Some EU deliveries suspended 'until further notice'
Manx actress to return to West End in April
No word from Barclays over Island job losses in global cost cutting move
