
The only Manxman in the House of Lords celebrates his 93rd birthday today
Randolph Quirk was born at Lambfell in German on this day in 1920.
He went to Douglas High School for Boys and went on to study at University College London.
A linguist and professor, he became a life peer as Baron Quirk of Bloomsbury in the London Borough of Camden in 1994.
He divides his time between England and Germany where his wife was born.
