Minister defends fisheries enforcement team
The minister responsible for fisheries on the Island is defending the crew of the enforcement vessel Barrule.
A recent Tynwald answer showed it has not reached its target of 52 patrols in any of the past 5 years.
The Barrule set sail 49 times last year but the low point was just 30 in 2017.
Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Geoffrey Boot says there is land work as well as sea patrols for the crew which these figures just don't show:
