Bill Dale's innovative volunteer scheme lauded
The founder of Beach Buddies is to receive the Tynwald Honour.
It's the highest honour the court can bestow on an individual.
Bill Dale is receiving the award for the incredible work he has done, inspiring thousands to volunteer their time every weekend to clean the Island's coastline - and increasing awareness of environmental issues.
The decision was unanimously backed by Tynwald last night.
Speaker of the Keys, Juan Watterson, on behalf of the Tynwald Honours Committee, explained how Beach Buddies had brought all sectors of the Island together.
Bill will be presented with the medal on Tynwald Day
He folllows in the footsteps of the likes of Geoff Karran and Harvey Briggs.
