Engineers have now rectified the problem
An issue with one of the Ben-my-Chree's lifeboats has resulted in a delay to this morning's sailing to Heysham.
The 8.45am crossing is now expected to depart at around 10am.
As a result of the late departure, there may also be a short delay to the 2.15pm sailing to Douglas.
The Steam Packet Company confirmed onboard engineers have since rectified a small technical issue with the port lifeboat.
The operator has apologised for the delay, insisting passenger safety is its main priority.
