SPC says it's exploring the feasibility of improved services to Ireland
The Ben-my-Chree will undertake a trial sailing to Larne this week.
During the government conference last month, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company said it was exploring the practicality and feasibility of improved services to Ireland.
In a statement, it says it is just a trial at this stage, and no final decision has been made regarding the addition of the route to the sailing schedule.
It adds this test will help assess operational viability, port suitability, and sustainability before determining any further steps.
