
A high spot of the rural year takes place this evening (Thurs 19th Sept)
The 20th Cronk y Voddy Ploughing Society Produce show and big spud weigh in takes place at Ballakaighen Farm in Cronk y Voddy.
There are classes for all sorts of vegetables, fruit and flowers as well as preserves and pickles, to say nothing of cakes, eggs and even photography.
Children have their own events and there's a even a class for the best Victoria sandwich made by a man, not forgetting the all important big spud competition.
The prize presentation and auction of produce from is from 8pm, with demonstrations of old country skills from 7pm
All are welcome and proceeds go to Ronald McDonald House Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
