Big turnout for Ramsey courthouse meeting

Government should now listen to the people says Garff MHK

Over two hundred residents gathered in Ramsey to discuss the sale of the town's courthouse last night (Fri)

A panel of MHKs and Commissioners fielded questions and comments from a crowd overwhelmingly in favour of keeping the building in public ownership.

 

The local authority announced this week it would be entering a bid for the Courthouse - which the Department of Home Affairs put on the open market a fortnight ago. 

 

Ramsey MHK Dr Alex Allinson claimed it was 'unimaginable... that the centre of the town was being effectively privatised'.
