MLCs approved change asking for vote to remain in place for five years or until current Bishop leaves role
A Bill which would see the Bishop of Sodor and Man lose their vote in Tynwald will return to the House of Keys.
The Legislative Council has agreed an amendment to the Constitution Bill at its sitting this morning.
Gary Clueit's amendment would see the Bishop lose the vote five years after the Bill receives Royal Assent or at the end of the current Bishop's tenure, whichever comes first.
The change means the proposals will have to be considered again by MHKs before it can be sent for Royal Assent.
