Blind unsafe if prom plans go ahead, says guide dogs charity

Changes need to be made to Douglas promenade plans, to make it safe and cost effective in the long run.

That's according to the Guide Dogs organisation, which is objecting to plans to regenerate the capital's seafront.

The designs by UK specialist Ben Hamilton-Baillie are based on a 'shared space' scheme, shedding traffic lights and blurring the boundaries between road and pavement.

Guide Dogs engagement officer Zoe Foster says if changes are not made now, it will cost government more in the long run:
