Boost for Island baby charity

An Island mum who lost her baby last year has had a boost to the charity set up in her daughter's name.

Torie Kissack formed Tabitha's Trust after the little girl died at four hours old from a rare congenital disorder.

Tabitha's parents were only allowed a few hours with her after she passed away - but wanted much longer.

They're now raising money to buy four special 'cuddle cots', Moses baskets fitted with refrigeration units, which allow babies to remain with bereaved parents for extended periods.

The new Mayor of Douglas Carol Malarkey is supporting Tabitha's Trust in her year-long mayoral appeal.

Torie wants to buy two cots for Liverpool Women's Hospital where Tabitha was born and two for Noble's Hospital: (play audio)

Tabitha's Trust is holding a fundraising night on Tuesday next week for the Red Arrows' performance over Douglas.

You can view the spectacle from The Crescent at the far end of Douglas prom.

Tickets are available from Torie on 451835.
