Bra dash runners take the plunge

Eye-catching event to hgihlight cause

Heads have turned in the busy centre of Douglas this lunchtime - as scores of charity runners took to the streets for this year's bra dash (15 April).

The event sees men and women dressed in bras of all colours, shapes and sizes, raising funds for breast cancer research.

Bra dash is organised annually by the Island branch of Breast Cancer NOW, with competitors sponsored or making donations to take part.

Runs were organised in the capital and in Castletown today, with Ramsey and Peel holding their events on Saturday. 

Buckets were also shaken along the circuit, with shoppers, office workers and those in pubs and cafes throwing in their loose change.

There was a party atmosphere at the finish line behind Marks and Spencer - where the leading ladies in the race were relieved and happy to be back:
