British Time Trial Champs at St. John's

The British Cycling National Time Trial Championships takes place today (Thurs) based in St. John's.

The action starts with the women's race at 11am along a course which heads up the west coast to Kirk Michael and returns along the TT Course to Ballacraine.

The under-23 contest starts at 1pm with the first two events over one lap of the 13.8 mile route.

The mens's contest at 6.30pm is over two circuits.

Riders set off at one minute intervals.

In the under-23's, Team Wiggins rider Scott Davies starts off as favourite looking for a record-breaking fourth title.

Champion Hayley Simmonds defends her ladies crown while Alex Dowsett is out for a record-breaking sixth win in the men's showdown.

There's Manx interest including Mark Christian, Elizabeth Holden, Anna Christian and Nathan Draper in action.

Island fans will have to wait until Sunday to see Mark Cavendish and Peter Kennaugh compete in the road race.
