John Myers' death announced by family
The BBC and Border TV broadcaster who authored a report into Manx Radio has died following a suspected heart attack.
John Myers' son Scott announced the 60-year-old's death in a post on social media, describing the family as "heartbroken".
Mr Myers, whose life had been affected with cancer in recent years, was on holiday in Scotland with his wife.
During his career he spent time at BBC Radio Cumbria and BBC Radio Tees, and was considered a leading authority in the radio industry.
His review of Manx Radio was published in 2014, and in an interview at the time he compared the difficulty of picking a station playlist to managing Manchester United:
