Bullying response from Ballakermeen head

Follows active Facebook allegation

The head teacher at Ballakermeen High School has responded to a thread on Facebook which contains an allegation from a parent saying their child has been bullied.

Adrienne Burnett has issued a statement after a post appeared on the 'Isle of Man News and Politics' page:-

"We recognise that every school will have incidents of bullying and have a policy in place accordingly.

We deal with poor behaviour proactively, with work in and out of the classroom and very active student anti-bullying ambassadors.

We have a zero-tolerance approach to bullying, but when bullying is reported each case is investigated thoroughly.

The full range of available sanctions is used and other agencies are involved when appropriate."
