Bus Vannin has announced price hikes for the weekend.
From Saturday, adult fares on its buses will rise by twenty per cent for shorter journeys that last just three stops.
Meanwhile, for the longest journsey on Island routes, fares will rise by just six per cent.
The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure blames continuing increases in operational costs and budgetary restraints.
It says it’s the first time bus fares have gone up for two years.
