Bush fires 'started deliberately'

Joint investigation launched

The fire service says it believes a series of scrubland blazes in the south of the Island were started deliberately.

Officers battled flames overnight near the Eary Cushlin in Dalby, and then attended two separate fires on the Sloc.

There are fears the fires could have an impact on nearby nesting Grouse and Hen Harriers.

Police are working with firefighters and wardens from DEFA to track down potential arsonists.

If you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area, you are urged to report it.
