Two new MHKs to be elected from ten candidates
Democracy is set to swing into action in Douglas South this morning (27 Aug) as voters head to the polls to elect two new members of the House of Keys.
There's ten candidates to chose from - Anthony Allen, Pamela Birnie-Malarkey, Claire Christian, Ian James-Clanton, David Fowler, Andrew Jessopp of the Isle of Man Green Party, Michael Josem of the Liberal Vannin Party, Kevin Oliphant-Smith, Lon Pinkerton, and Paul Quine.
It was called following the resignation of Kate Costain, and the passing of Bill Malarkey.
Polls open at 8am and close at 8pm, with polling stations at Pulrose Methodist Church, Anagh Coar School and Scoill Vallajeelt - where the count will be held.
Manx Radio will be broadcasting the result live and speaking to the winners, who'll serve as MHKs until the general election in September next year.
