Beach Buddies to launch new scheme
An Island-based environmental charity is inviting people to attend the launch of a new project today.
Beach Buddies will officially announce the creation of a new project, "River Buddies" at 2 o'clock at the Laxey Washing Floors.
Following discussions with the Manx Wildlife Trust and the Department of Environment, the group has agreed on a new initiative to clean up the Island’s rivers from significant amounts of rubbish which has gathered over many years.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and a free beer or soft drink is on offer afterwards in the Mines Tavern.
