Call to youngsters for UNESCO forum

Global gathering for Biosphere regions

There's a chance for young adults in the Island to make a unique  contribution to a new United Nations forum.

Last year, the Isle of Man won UNESCO Biosphere status, becoming the world's first entire jurisdiction to be awarded the title.

It recognises the Island's environment, culture, heritage, community, diverse economy, and sustainable quality of life.

Now, a Manx delegation of 18-25 year olds is needed to take part in an international gathering, to discuss common issues with counterparts from around the world.

UNESCO's Man and the Boiosphere (MAB) Regions is hosting its first youth forum in Italy over five days in September.

Individuals keen to represent the Isle of Man are invited to apply.

The Island's Biosphere champion Peter Longworth says they're looking for people with ideas on how to harness the accolade:
