Vice Chair John Cringle says it will provide 'much needed' support to residents
Castletown Commissioners has chosen to decrease its local authority rate for the next financial year.
It will be set at 395 pence in the pound which the local authority says will provide 'much needed' support to residents without 'any detriment' to its operations.
The refuse rate will also be reduced to £220 per household which it believes will still allow for investment into the towns public services.
Vice Chair John Cringle says the local authority had to start the budget 'from scratch' as previous years' accounts were unavailable.

The local authority is expecting an income of just over £1.5million from the new rate, refuse rate and its 'other' income for the next financial year - with a £3,000 surplus from its expenditure.
Chair Tony Brown said: "The board and its committees, along with our staff and external support have undertaken a considerable amount of work to fully examine and develop a realistic budget for the financial year ahead - 2026/2027, which we hope will not only safeguard our towns public services but will also help support our community."
