Triple world superbike champion Jonathan Rea is amongst the 12 nominations for the BBC Sports Personality of the year awards
The announcement was made on the One Show this evening (27 Nov).
There had been a social media campaign, including a petition, to highlight the achievements of the Castletown resident.
Rea is the first rider in history to win the world title three year in a row.
