Government House is searching for a new butler and chauffeur to provide a ‘professional and discreet service’ for senior officials and VIPs.

It’s trying to find someone ‘highly professional, practical and adaptable’ for the deputy house manager role.

The position is described as a ‘unique opportunity to work at the heart of the Island’s constitutional and ceremonial life’.

It will incorporate supervising and coordinating household staff, practical duties around the house and grounds, preparing for official functions and supporting logistical arrangements.

The successful candidate will also have to drive the lieutenant governor and other authorised passengers around the Island.

Candidates will have to demonstrate they hold a full, clean driving licence and have significant practical driving experience with the confidence, and ability, to drive senior officials and VIPs professionally and safely.

The advertised salary is between £38,395 and £44,857 per year for a 37-hour working week.
