Police appeal for witnesses
A building in the south of the Island which dates from the English Civil War has been vandalised, prompting the police to launch an appeal for information.
The say several pieces of masonry have been damaged and a cannon has been taken off its stand at Derby Fort on Fort Island at Derbyhaven.
It was rebuilt by the Seventh Earl of Derby in 1645, having been originally constructed on the orders of Henry VIII more than 100 years earlier in 1540.
Officers say the damage has occurred some time in the last month.
