Claims hunger and homelessness real issues on Island

Food bank use increasing

A charity worker says increasing holiday hunger and homelessness on the Island mean more people need help than ever before

Julie Marshall from Housing Matters says many are struggling with the rising costs of living and over the summer many more people turned to food banks for support.

This weekend will a see group of musicians gather at Noa Bakehouse for a gig titled 'We shall Overcome', to raise awareness of these issues and collect food donations.

Donations will be split between the Isle of Man FoodBank and Housing Matters.
