Closing statements to be made in re-trial of Island's Attorney General

The prosecution and defence will today (Tues) present their closing statements in the re-trial of the Island’s Attorney General.

Senior prosecutor Peter Wright QC and defence counsel David Farrer QC are due to address the seven-strong jury at Douglas Courthouse.

Fifty-two-year-old Stephen Harding of Glen Vine denies a charge of perjury and of committing acts against public justice.

Yesterday afternoon, after five days of prosecution witnesses, the defence chose not to present any evidence on behalf of its client.
