Cluster of Covid-19 cases at King William's College

Seven cases relate to yesterday's nine positive results

Seven international students at King William's College have tested positive for Covid-19.

A group of 26 pupils, studying the International Baccalaureate in the college's Sixth Form, returned to the Isle of Man on 4 January as part of a localised 'bubble'.

The school confirmed the students, aged between 16 and 17, tested positive during their day 13 test whilst in isolation.

It's believed all seven cases relate to the nine found on the Island yesterday.

An exemption was given to King William's last year to allow 39 international students back on to the Isle of Man, despite the Island's borders being closed to non-residents.

None of the students are displaying symptoms, and are said to be in 'good spirits' while continuing virtual lessons on Microsoft Teams.

KWC is working with Public Health to manage the situation and ensure there's no further risk to the wider community.
