Code of conduct for public servants to be scrutinised

Committee established after petition submitted on Tynwald Day

The code of conduct for public servants on the Isle of Man is going to be scrutinised by a Tynwald committee.

Three members were elected to consider and report on a petition for redress presented at Tynwald Day this year.

Kate Beecroft MHK made the proposal to the court, having engaged with petitioners Dorothy and Philip Salmon.

However, Mrs Beecroft said she felt there was 'no point' revealing details of the 'personal trials' they had been through, before knowing the matter would be investigated:

Mrs Beecroft did seek to assure the court the petitioners were not seeking personal retribution of any kind.

The members elected were Julie Edge MHK plus MLCs Tim Crookall and Kate Lord-Brennan.
