An Onchan man who was found asleep at the wheel of his car has been ordered to carry out 120 hours of community service.

Finn Dennis Ledwidge, of Manor Park, was found by police in his car on 24 September last year.

He was more than two times over the legal limit for alcohol; over four times the limit for MDMA, and over three times the limit of the main metabolite of cocaine - Benzoylecgonine.

During an appearance at Douglas Courthouse, he admitted being in charge of a vehicle whilst over the limit for the three substances.

Ledwidge also admitted being disorderly on a licenced premises following an incident at Jaks Bar on 28 February.

The 23-year-old threw an empty glass across the bar at his mother whilst she was attempting to leave.

His advocate told the court he is a man "suffering with alcohol addiction" and that he was remorseful for his actions.

Sentencing Ledwidge to a combination order and a 12-month alcohol ban; magistrates told him they accepted his remorse as 'genuine'.

Ordering him to pay prosecution costs of £125, they added: "This is your opportunity to put this all behind you and move forward."
