JCK plead not guilty
A company has been committed to stand trial at the Court of General Gaol after denying responsibilty for an accident which caused the death of a Douglas man.
Local plant hire and demolition firm JCK Ltd pleaded not guilty to a lapse in workplace safety standards following the death of Gareth Sowden in May 2013.
The 55-year-old mechanical engineer died after being trapped under a shipping container when working on a sewage treatment project in Kirk Michael.
Deputy High Baliff Jayne Hughes committed JCK to trial because, in her opinion, the company has a case to answer.
