Cost of living crisis: Plans to provide free school meals over Easter

Support measure subject to Tynwald approval

Children who receive free school meals could continue to do so over the Easter holidays.

The chief minister has announced the measure, which will be put before Tynwald members for approval at an extraordinary sitting on Thursday (7 March), in light of what's considered to be up to a 20 per cent increase in household costs on the Island.

Alfred Cannan has given a statement in the House of Keys this morning on the cost of living crisis - caused by a significant rise in gas, electricity and fuel prices - triggered, in part, by the war in Ukraine.
